The condition of the watch is extremely nice and all-original. It is very rare to find one with a dial in such good condition (most have water damage, as the watch is not designed to be water resistant). The stainless steel case has a 35mm diameter. The silvered dial has aged to a lovely champagne patina. The golden applied hour markers and sword hands reflect the light beautifully.
The blue accents of the inner alarm-setting markers and triangle on the inner dial give a wonderful contrast. The tiny blemishes are hardly visible to the naked eye. The watch was professionally serviced in 2022 and the manual-wind, shock-protected P489/1 movement runs very well with strong amplitude and good precision.
See also the pictures on the timegrapher (please note that the lift angle of 60° was correctly calibrated after visual inspection of the swing of the balance wheel). Between wearing on the wrist and keeping dial-up during the night, it runs within a few seconds of deviation per day. The alarm function is amazing and works flawlessly and "rattles" loudly for about 15 seconds.
While some light polishing may have been done in the past, the case is perfectly sharp and the lugs have their unusual teardrop and flare-out shape (see pictures). A yellow-gold version of this watch, with the exact same dial, was even gifted to Charlie Chaplin by the cantonal government of Vaud (Switzerland). While a few other reference 3151 watches are offered on the internet at lower prices, their condition (especially the dials) are usually bad.
Again, please note that the watch is not water-resistant. So be careful on rainy days or when washing your hands. If you prefer a different strap, please don't hesitate to ask.
